Abstract: The current paper deals with the Anglo-Saxon gastronomic discourse as a linguosemiotic system of signs, denoting food resources, their production, preparation and consumption. Gastronomic discourse performs denotative, instructive and evaluative functions. Its constitutive elements are subjects, objects, chronotope, values, signs-gluttonims, texts (recipes), institutionality as a sign of social differentiation into the poor and the rich  in accordance with the food quality.
