Abstract: This article discusses how to use impersonal sentences in the translation of literary texts from English into Russian. The analysis of all the selected examples from foreign texts indicates that despite the absence of direct analogies in English and Russian, there are a number of linguistic features which suggest that English and Russian sentences intercross with each other, however they do not refer to the same class.

Key words: impersonal sentence, structural diversity, functional and stylistic value, impersonality, infinitival sentence.
